About Us

Our fraternity is one of the oldest, most historic organizations at SUNY Oswego. We are a local fraternity, proud of our ability to thrive over the many decades we've been contributing our presence and overall resourcefulness to the local and college community.  Sigma Gamma Fraternity proudly wears the colors of green, gold and white.  We take great pride in passing down traditions established by our founding brothers.

Shown on this page is one of the very first "brother identification cards" issued when our founders started Sigma Gamma in 1947.

Over the years, our brothers have originated from all facets of student demographic profiles and backgrounds. Our organization's practices enable young men to grown into respected leaders who propel one another into realizing their collective potential.  The group picture shown on this page was taken just after our annual Formal Inductions Ceremony in 2017. It is a solemn ceremony that recognizes the many contributions of our founders and pays homage to the profound message embodied within our fraternity creed, which we continue to live by 70 + years after our founding.

The Sigma Gamma brotherhood is an inclusive family.  A brotherhood of men. Whether you are a scholar, an athlete, a social maven, an artistic soul, a student government leader, a character, a charming ladies man, a man of few words .... whatever.... there can be a special place for you in Sigma Gamma if you want there to be.  We turn young adolescents into men, and have a lot of fun collectively while we're doing it!

Also on this page is a picture from 1981. Brothers Brian Donovan and Mike Murray sporting the classic ER Togas at the annual Gamma Toga (Date) Party. One of the many traditions we've been keeping up since our founding.  If you're thinking about joining Gamma, picture yourself like these brothers.  You'll be glad you did.  Find out more about our historic fraternity.Contact Us!
