Here is a picture of the original charter from 1947.  All of the fraternity's twenty - six (26) founding brothers signed this historic document, which also features a raised seal to further make it official that these visionary young men were in the midst of documenting something very monumental.  The founding of Sigma Gamma Fraternity. This charter has survived throughout our history, and was prominently displayed in the Trophy Room at 53 West Seneca Street for 50 years. 

It is something that we as brothers take tremendous pride in.  We are thankful that our founding brothers had the presence of mind not only to document, but also preserve so well over the years.  The charter was passed around for brothers to touch for good luck at the 70th Anniversary gathering at Steamer's Landing on June 10th, 2017. It was remounted at the House in the Fall of 2017 and proudly resides at the House today.
