The top picture on this page shows our 1985 PM Keith Rafferty, giving the traditional NMEC (or PM) speech at a recruitment event. The bottom picture is from 1976 with Gamma's President at the time, Chuck "Roast" Rankin giving the President's speech.  What they're doing is what Gamma leaders have been doing for decades.  Namely, telling young college students what an incredible opportunity awaits them if they make the decision to join Sigma Gamma.

These recruitment events used to be called "Smokers" but nowadays they're referred to as Rush Events. That said, we chose these pictures to symbolize that we've been doing this a long time. These pictures are from 1985 and 1976, but if we used pictures from 1955, or 2015 they would look more or less the same. We know what it takes to run a successful new member indoctrination program and we know how important it is to respect traditions. 

At our current Rush Events, you'll hear our leaders get up and explain why you should seriously consider taking the steps that we believe will lead you to the best decision you can make in college. 

And then, DO IT.
