Honoring Our Traditions
We have many traditions within Sigma Gamma. Collectively, keeping them alive helps define who we are today and keeps us connected to our founding brothers.   We understand that times change and customs evolve, and we take those factors into account as we endeavor to maintain traditions. If you want to know more about our many traditions, then you should consider taking the steps needed to join Gamma. If you want to be a part of the closest fraternity in Oswego, we'll show you how it's done. The Gamma Way.

Traditions define how we run our operations as an organization, how we elect our officers, how we interact with one another as brothers, and the nature/format of what kinds of service projects and social and philanthropic events we hold. We also have very specific traditions associated with our new member education program, as some other Greek organizations in Oswego do.  One of many examples of such traditions passed down through the years covers the shape and way every brother makes his traditional Sigma Gamma paddle. These are meant to be one of many keepsakes from their time as a class member in the New Member Education Program.  An example of ouruniquely shaped paddle can be found on the page we have specifically devoted to that topic on this website.

The bottom line is that we have many traditions, and together they make us unique. You can find out for yourself when you join Sigma Gamma. And then you can be one of our many proud alumni who regularly return to Oswego or reconnect with other brothers and instantly bond over the shared experience of Gamma traditions.
